An intimate venue on the south coast
Some occasions are better kept small.
We have come to believe the celebrations people remember are rarely the largest ones. They are the ones where the setting suited the occasion, the food was good, and nobody felt lost in the room.
Hidden Gem is a boutique residence a few minutes from the south coast. The terrace upstairs and the gazebo and pool deck below give you two distinct settings, with our own restaurant and bar on site.

Intimate Weddings & Receptions
For couples who would rather have 30 people they love than 200 they half know. Exchange vows in the garden, gather your closest family and friends on the pool deck, and spend the day somewhere that belongs to you for the whole of it.
Small weddings, receptions, vow renewals and anniversary celebrations.
Bridal & Baby Showers
Before the wedding, or before the arrival, there is usually an afternoon worth setting aside.
Bring your closest friends together for a long lunch, a glass of something cold and a few hours with no schedule beyond the one you set.
Birthdays & Milestones
Some birthdays want more than a table at a restaurant. A 40th, a 60th, a retirement, an engagement, a promotion worth marking.
An evening cocktail reception, a long lunch, or dinner for a dozen.
Anniversaries & Private Dining
Good food, the right people, and a table you do not have to give back at 9:00pm.
With The Patio Bar & Bites on site, menus are built around your occasion rather than pulled off a set list.

Downstairs — The Gazebo & Pool Deck

Our open-air setting, with the gazebo and the pool deck given over to your event.
Choose your 8-hour window, any time between 11:00am and 11:00pm.

How the price works
The venue price covers your chosen setting for the stated window and guest number. Guests above that number are BBD $40 each, up to the capacity of the setting.
Anything beyond the setting itself — food and beverages, décor and styling, floristry, additional furniture, entertainment — is quoted for you and added to your proposal, so you see one figure before you commit to anything.
All prices are in Barbados dollars. Additional event time, where approved in advance, is charged separately. Final inclusions, pricing and terms are confirmed in your event proposal.
On site
Dining & drinks by The Patio Bar & Bites
Our restaurant and bar sits on site, which means your catering is not a supplier you have to manage.
Menus are built to your guest count, your occasion and the time of day — canapés and cocktails for a reception, a seated lunch for a shower, a long dinner for an anniversary. Drinks can run on consumption or on an agreed package.
We will talk you through the options and cost them properly before you commit to anything.
Good to know
Planning your day
- Entertainment
- DJs are not permitted. This is a residential setting and we protect it. We are glad to discuss live acoustic music and other entertainment that suits the surroundings.
- Music
- All events conclude by 11:00pm. Music ends by 9:00pm unless it can be played at a low volume, and we ask that it is kept free of explicit lyrics — for our neighbours and for the guests staying with us.
- Suppliers
- You are welcome to bring your own cake, florist, photographer and planner. Let us know who is coming and when they need access, and we will arrange it.
- Children
- Children aged 12 and older are welcome. Children under 12 may attend with appropriate parental supervision throughout. Please note the residence itself is adults-only: overnight accommodation is reserved for guests aged 25 and over.
- Parking
- Complimentary guest parking for up to 20 vehicles is available in the lot adjoining the residence, subject to space. Parking on neighbouring private property is not permitted.
- The pool
- Pool access during your event is agreed in advance and set out in your proposal. Pool hours are 8:00am to 9:00pm.
- Weather
- Barbados being Barbados, we plan for rain even when none is forecast. A covered alternative is agreed with you at the planning stage, at no extra cost.
- House rules
- Hidden Gem is strictly non-smoking throughout. Glitter and confetti are not permitted, and no glass is allowed at the poolside. The full list is in our Terms & Conditions.
- Dates
- We host a limited number of private events, which is deliberate. Tell us your date early.
Confirming your event
A 50% non-refundable deposit confirms your date and takes it off the calendar. The balance is due no later than 10 days before your event, and a US$100 refundable security deposit is pre-authorised on your card approximately 48 hours beforehand.
Payments are processed in US dollars. Everything is set out in your event proposal and in our Private Events Terms & Conditions.

What makes a celebration work at Hidden Gem is not only the setting. It is the size of the place. The pool deck rather than a function room. Being able to see everyone you invited from where you are standing.
It is closer to hosting at home than to booking a venue, without any of the work that hosting at home involves.
